Report on Oil Sightings throughout Coastal Louisiana

BATON ROUGE (June 10, 2010) - The below is a situational awareness report of oil impacted areas led by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Louisiana Army National Guard and local governments.

Note: The information in this report has been forwarded to the federal incident command post in Houma, which is composed of U.S. Coast Guard and BP officials. This report consists of newly impacted areas, and does not serve as a comprehensive listing of impacted areas.

Oil Sightings Report June 10, 2010

Sighting: Gray sheen and tar mats in marsh grass on the eastern shore of Wilkinson Bay.
Date: 10 Jun 10

Sighting: Tar mats in marsh grass in NE edge of Barataria Bay.
Date: 10 Jun 10

Sighting: 9 square miles of dark brown streamers in NE Barataria Bay.
Date: 10 Jun 10

Sighting: Oil located on the western corner of Bay Jimmy.
Date: 10 Jun 10

Sighting: Oil sighted in Creole Bay/West Champagne Bay 200 x 300 yards wide.
Date: 10 June 10

Jefferson Parish:
Sighting: Large gray sheen 3 nautical miles SE of Barataria Pass.
Date: 10 Jun 10

Sighting: Gray sheen near center of Hackberry Bay running N to S 1.5 miles and approximately 300 feet wide.
