Report on Oil Sightings throughout Coastal Louisiana

BATON ROUGE (June 21, 2010) - The below is a situational awareness report of oil impacted areas led by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Louisiana Army National Guard and local governments.

Note: The information in this report has been forwarded to the federal incident command post in Houma, which is composed of U.S. Coast Guard and BP officials. This report consists of newly impacted areas, and does not serve as a comprehensive listing of impacted areas.

Oil Sightings Report June 21, 2010

St. Bernard Parish:
Sighting: Oil located .62 miles north of Raccoon Island in Lake Fortuna.
Date: 21 June 10

Plaquemines Parish:
Sighting: Tar balls located in Lake Grand Ecaille and Bay Batiste.
Date: 21 Jun 10.

Sighting: Gray sheen with tar balls located 1.6 miles southeast of Lost Bayou.
Date: 21 Jun 10.

Sighting: Oil located in Bay Jimmy.
Date: 21 Jun 10.

Sighting: Oil in the grass approximately 75 meters by 10 meters wide located west of Calumet Island.
Date: 21 Jun 10.

Sighting: Tar balls located in Barataria Pass near Bay Chaland.
Date: 21 Jun 10.

Sighting: Oil sheen with tar balls located in Grand Bayou Pass.
Date: 21 Jun 10.

Sighting: Oil with tar patties in the marsh grass located in south Bay Jimmy.
Date: 21 Jun 10.

Sighting: Oil on the shoreline located in Lake Washington.
Date: 21 Jun 10.

Sighting: Oil in east Redfish Bay.
Date: 21 Jun 10.

Jefferson Parish:
Sighting: Oil in marsh located .93 miles south of the Manila Village Oil Field.
