Report on Oil Sightings throughout Coastal Louisiana

BATON ROUGE (June 23, 2010) - The below is a situational awareness report of oil impacted areas led by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Louisiana Army National Guard and local governments.

Note: The information in this report has been forwarded to the federal incident command post in Houma, which is composed of U.S. Coast Guard and BP officials. This report consists of newly impacted areas, and does not serve as a comprehensive listing of impacted areas.


Oil Sightings Report June 23, 2010

Plaquemines:
Sighting: Orange oil located .79 miles S SE of Drauzenes Island.
Date: 23 Jun 10.

Sighting: Heavy oil on the shoreline located in NE Bay Coquette.
Date: 23 Jun 10.

Sighting: Heavy oil in the marsh located in western Bayou Coquette.
Date: 23 Jun 10.

Sighting: Oil located N of Pelican Island in SW Scofield Bay.
Date: 23 Jun 10.

Sighting: Oil on the shoreline located in SW Bay Sanbois and Bayou Dulac.
Date: 23 Jun 10.

Sighting: Oil streamers located in SE Bay Chene Fleur.
Date: 23 Jun 10.

Sighting: Tar patties located 2.5 miles W of Lost Bayou in Bay Batiste.
Date: 23 Jun 10.


Jefferson Parish:
Sighting: Tar balls located 1.15 miles SW of Manilla Island in NW Barataria Bay.
Date: 23 Jun 10

Sighting: Orange oil located in Barataria Pass.
Date: 23 Jun 10


Lafourche Parish:
Sighting: Oil located near St Honore Island in SW Caminada Bay and in Williams Canal.
Date: 23 Jun 10

Sighting: Approximately 15 gallons of oil on the S shore of Elmer's Island.
Date: 23 Jun 10

Sighting: Oil located on West Fourchon Beach.
Date: 23 Jun 10

Sighting: Oil located on East Fourchon Beach.
Date: 23 Jun 10
