PRESS RELEASE Report on Oil Sightings throughout Coastal Louisiana BATON ROUGE (June 25, 2010) - The below is a situational awareness report of oil impacted areas led by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Louisiana Army National Guard and local governments. Note: The information in this report has been forwarded to the federal incident command post in Houma, which is composed of U.S. Coast Guard and BP officials. This report consists of newly impacted areas, and does not serve as a comprehensive listing of impacted areas. Oil Sightings Report June 25, 2010 St. Bernard Parish: Plaquemines: Sighting: Heavy oil on the shoreline near Bay Chinere Ronquille located W Four Bayou Pass. Sighting: Oil with tar balls located between Bastian Island and Shell Island. Jefferson Parish: Sighting: Oil on the rocks and beach located S of Queen Bess Island. Lafourche Parish: Sighting: Oil located on the N side of Little Pass. Sighting: Light sheen located approximately mile S of East Timbalier Island. Sighting: Light oil located 2 to 3 miles SE of Little Pass Timbalier. Terrebonne Parish: Sighting: Oil N of West Timbalier Island located in Cat Island Pass. Sighting: Oil just below the water surface located 3.5 miles W SW of Timbalier Island. ### |
