PRESS RELEASE First Lady Supriya Jindal Calls for Support of Children Impacted by Oil Spill BATON ROUGE (June 29, 2010) - First Lady Supriya Jindal called on Louisianans to support children impacted by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill by donating school supplies for the upcoming school year. First Lady Supriya Jindal said, "The Deepwater Horizon oil spill has greatly affected the lives of many Louisiana citizens. As we face the challenge of cleaning and restoring our marshes and wetlands, with its vibrant fisheries and delicacies, many of our citizens will need our help and our continued prayers. "With the start of school in the not too distant future, many families in coastal Louisiana will be faced with the strain of providing the necessary school supplies our children need for success in school. "To help our children start off the school year, and to help alleviate the additional burden on families already faced with unprecedented challenges, we're launching a school supply drive. I am hoping citizens will aid our efforts by collecting school supplies for children along Louisiana's coast." To donate, supplies can be mailed or dropped off at Louisiana's Governor's Mansion: Attn: Kellie Duhon For more information contact Kellie Duhon: 225-773-1415 Suggested School Supplies Needed for One Elementary Student:
