Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions Releases Status on Financial Institutions
BATON ROUGE, La. (September 4, 2008) - The Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions (LOFI) and federal regulatory agencies are in the process of continually updating a database on the status of financial institutions in Louisiana after Hurricane Gustav. The information includes a physical address of the main office, web address, and the addresses and statuses of all branches (whether opened or closed). The link to this list can be found on LOFI’s website www.ofi.louisiana.gov or directly on FDIC’s website http://www.fdic.gov/gustav/ for banks and thrifts and the NCUA’s website http://webapps.ncua.gov/ecc/gustav.htm for credit unions.
In addition, FDIC and NCUA have established toll free numbers that will allow customers to obtain information regarding their financial institutions at 1-877-275-3342 (for the FDIC—banks and thrifts) and 1-888-584-6847 (for the NCUA—credit unions) when an Internet connection is not available.
