Interstate 10 Closing for Entergy Crews
BATON ROUGE (September 5, 2008) - Louisiana State Police-Troop A will be closing Interstate 10 both eastbound and westbound today for utility work by Entergy Corporation.

At 12:00 noon, troopers will be closing both directions of I-10 so that Entergy crews can repair a main transmission line which crosses over the interstate. The transmission line provides power to three substations in the Baton Rouge area. Troopers will be closing the interstate for one-hour intervals throughout the afternoon while crews are working. Traffic will be diverted at Siegen Lane and Highland Road onto U.S. 61 (Airline Highway).

Other road closures currently in effect are:

-LA 37 (Greenwell Springs Rd) at the Comite River due to flooding.
-LA 1 along False River due to downed power lines.
-LA 44 from the Sunshine Bridge (LA 70) to Convent due to downed power lines.
-LA 415 at LA 76 due to downed power lines.

U.S. 190 at the Old Mississippi River Bridge is currently open.
