St. James Parish Burn Ban Remains In Effect
ST. JAMES (September 9, 2008) - The St. James Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness along with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office is announcing that our burn ban remains in effect until Thursday, September 11, 2008.

All St. James Parish Public Schools and Chanel Interparochial will open on Wednesday, September 10, 2008.  All Headstart Centers will be closed until further notice.

A Disaster Food Stamp Office will open on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the West Bank Reception Hall on Hwy. 18 in Vacherie.  The Disaster Food Stamp Office will open from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily for seven consecutive days.

Additionally, residents wishing to apply for the Blue Roof Program, a Right of Entry Collection Center has been opened by the Corps of Engineers at the North Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department on Hwy. 18 in Vacherie.
