Estimated Homes Flooded During Ike Update
Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness News Update
BATON ROUGE , La. (September 19, 2008) - Terrebonne and St. John Parish officials are reporting a significant decrease in the number of homes flooded during Hurricane Ike.

Terrebonne Parish officials estimate 2,500 homes flooded, not 15,000 as originally reported. Officials made the correction today saying 15,000 was the estimated number of homes in the affected area.

St. John Parish has decreased its number of flooded homes from 100 to 50.

Damage assessments are ongoing at the local, state and federal levels. Numbers are subject to change based on actual damage assessments.
