PRESS RELEASE Lafourche Parish Storm Debris Collection Update A major part of the Omni loading operation is the segregation of debris types. The four principle forms of debris include: household hazardous waste, white goods (appliances), construction and demolition (C/D) materials and vegetative debris. There is a right way to sort your debris and sorted debris will be removed before mixed debris. Mixed debris is classified as having two or more types of debris mixed together. Household hazardous waste, appliances and mixed debris will be the last material that will be picked up from the side of the road. SWDI, LLC will collect regular household garbage, such as food refuse, diapers, newspapers and other wastes in cans or bags. SWDI, LLC will not collect storm generated debris such as trees, tree limbs, fencing, roofing and other building materials. Because different trucks will collect and dispose of different kinds of solid wastes, we ask that residents separate the garbage and storm related debris at the curb as follows:
Household garbage
Construction Debris
Vegetative Debris
Household Hazardous Waste (notice will be given when pick up will begin)
“White” Goods (notice will be given when pick up will begin)
Electronics (notice will be given when pick up will begin)
